What this service is

Routine blood draws are the lab work your provider orders as part of ordinary care: metabolic panels, lipid panels, CBC, thyroid studies, A1C, vitamin levels, and the other tests that make up a yearly physical or a medication follow-up.

The draw itself is the same procedure you would get at a patient service center. The difference is where it happens. Instead of taking half a day off work, sitting in a waiting room, and managing parking, you stay where you are and a certified phlebotomist comes to you.

  3. The draw takes about ten minutes, including paperwork and verification.

  6. Results go to your ordering provider, who reviews them with you.

Routine Blood Draws FAQs

Do I need a doctor’s order for a routine blood draw?

Yes. Routine draws are doctor-ordered only. Bring or forward the lab order from your provider and we will handle the rest. If you are not sure whether you have a valid order, call us before booking and we can help you check.

Do I need to fast before my blood draw?

That depends on the tests ordered. Lipid panels and fasting glucose usually require 8 to 12 hours without food. Your provider’s order will say. When you book, tell us which tests are on the order and we will confirm whether fasting applies and help you pick an appointment time that makes it easy.

How long does a mobile blood draw take?

Most visits take about ten minutes from the time we arrive. Verification and labeling make up much of that. Multi-tube panels do not take meaningfully longer than a single tube.

What should I do to prepare?

Drink water unless your order says to fast from fluids as well, since hydration makes the draw easier. Wear a short sleeve or a sleeve that pushes up above the elbow. Have your ID, your insurance card if applicable, and the lab order ready.

What if my veins are hard to access?

Tell us when you book. Difficult access is common and worth knowing about in advance so we can plan time, warm the site, and choose the right equipment rather than improvising.

Can you draw blood from children?

Call us to discuss the patient’s age and the order before booking so we can tell you honestly whether we are the right fit for that visit.

Where do the results go?

To the provider who ordered the test. We collect and transport the specimen. The lab runs it and reports to your provider, who interprets the results with you. We do not release results directly.
